The Signal and Image Processing Laboratory (SIP-Lab) of the Department of Electronics Engineering at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology is dedicated to solve problems in Costa Rica and in the Centralamerican region related with the processing, analysis and recognition of information carried in temporal and spatial signals.

Undergraduate projects, master and Ph.D thesis are constantly developed in the context of the lab's projects, which are supported partially or totally by the university, private investors or international academic networks like CYTED.

The lab began its first steps back to 2005, but it exists as such since 2008.
